Shibari is a structured rope practice—often called kinbaku—that combines aesthetic design with precise body mechanics and risk management. Suspension extends this work by introducing vertical load, requiring careful planning, load-rated equipment, and disciplined communication. The approach is consent-forward and skills-based: pre-scene briefings, negotiated boundaries, continuous check-ins, and thoughtful aftercare as a standard. Instruction covers anatomy and nerve safety, circulation monitoring, anchor selection and redundancy, hardware inspection, and emergency readiness. We practice sustainable tying and progressive progression—from floor work to partial and full suspensions—with clear prerequisites. The goal is an informed, repeatable practice that is technically sound, aesthetically refined, and respectful of every body.
